Athletic deliver at Stand

LEAGUE leaders Clarence Athletic under 12s maintained their 100 per cent record with a 9-1 away win against Stand Athletic.

Clarence were straight on the attack and within minutes Ridsdale tapped in from close range to give the reigning champions the lead.

Strike partner Flitcroft got his name on the score sheet when he grabbed a quickfire brace, his second goal seeing him confidently round the keeper to give Clarence a 3-0 lead.

Sweatman got on the score sheet before midfielder Grogan scored with an excellent lob from outside the area.

Stand got a goal back before Flitcroft completed his hat-trick before half time.

It was 6-1 at the break to Clarence.

Clarence started the second half as confidently as they did the first and Sweatman grabbed Clarence's seventh.

The visitors were now passing the ball around well and after a deep corner Sweatman hammered an unstoppable shot past the keeper.

Late in the game he netted his fourth with another shot which was too hot to handle.

Clarence have now won 10 out of 10 to go nine points clear at the top of the North Bury League.

In an excellent team performance Max Gaskell was named man of the match for a good all-round display.
