Town learn from experience

30/ 7/2003

HEYWOOD Town continued their preparations for the new season with a game against top Rochdale side Dog and Partridge at Bacup Borough.

And although Town lost 5-1 - John Boal on target - it was a hard-fought game in which the Heywood lads showed lots of commitment.

Dog are recognised as probably the best amateur team in the Rochdale area and have enjoyed great success in recent seasons. It was a steep learning curve for the locals, but they stuck to their task well and will now recognise the standards required for success.
