Challenge on

HEYWOOD chess champion Keith Arkell has laid down an exciting challenge for local chess enthusiasts.
On 23 September Arkell, who won the English Championship recently, will take on all comers in a simultaneous display.
The event at Heywood Chess Club at Hopwood Unionist Club, Manchester Road starts at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in taking on the English chess champion can contact Bill O’Rourke the secretary of Heywood Chess Club on 01706 627874.
