Siddal Moor celebrates year of success

PROMISING athletes and sports people were honoured in an awards ceremony at Siddal Moor Sports College.
The evening aimed to highlight the achievements of teams and individual pupils at the school over the past year and included awards for athletics, basketball, cricket and volleyball.
In the past year, 43 teams from the school took part in competitions ranging from local to national level.
Other pupils were honoured for their efforts in trampolining, badminton, dance and judo.
PE teacher Mark Ragan said: "We have lots of talented sports people at the school and this year, our 16th awards, was also our most popular ever, with 350 in attendance.
"I would like to say a final good luck to all the pupils in their own chosen sport and I hope it continues to play some special part in their lives, long after their time at Siddal Moor."
