CYCLING: THE terrible weather conditions of late have resulted in many time trials being cancelled, postponed or to continue with very small numbers of riders due to safety concerns.

Pendle Forest Road Club’s Cumbria 10- mile time trial was one of those races which went ahead with a heavily depleted number of entrants, with almost half of the field not starting the event. Two of the riders who did start were ABC Centreville members John Burston and Kristian Ramsden.

Burston finished 11 seconds short of his last visit of 26 mins and 10 secs.

Although he was disappointed the wind and rain made the course much more challenging than usual. Ramsden coped well with the conditions and fell just four seconds short of his personal best, finishing with a time of 24.06, to pick up the junior prize for his effort.

ABC Centreville will hold their 25-mile time trial in the next few weeks in Cheshire with a 9.30am start.
