Rachel on top form in Formby

MANCHESTER Golf Club ace Rachel Connor claimed another victory at the weekend.
In extremely windy, cold weather, Rachel won the Ladies Order of Merit title for the Formby Leveret at Formby Ladies Golf Club.
The field for the Leveret was filled by players with both County and National experience.
The event was played over 36 holes and despite trailing the first round leader Katie Best (Sherwood Forest) by two shots, Rachel held her composure in very testing conditions to take the title by a shot from fellow girl international Hannah Barwood (Knowle Golf Club).
Rachel’s next event takes her to Royal Troon where she will take on the cream of Europe in the Helen Holm Scottish Strokeplay.
This will be the first event in ‘Rachel’s Rainbow Challenge’ when her scores of birdie or better will be tallied to raise much needed funds for the Francis House Children’s Hospice in Didsbury, Manchester.
