Hooley Bridge Celtic 4-3 Moston Brook

HOOLEY Bridge Celtic continued their winning form with a hard fought victory over undefeated Moston Brook at Queens Park on Saturday.

Celtic enjoyed a lot of good early possession and were surprised to go one goal down against the run of play.

The hosts bounced back, Smith beating two defenders and cutting inside to power a shot into the roof of the net.

Celtic doubled their tally as Hutchinson and Nuttall combined well to set up Greenhalgh whose fierce drive gave the keeper no chance.

At half time the home team were told to keep up the tempo and get the ball moving quicker. This was rewarded when fine work from Tinker set up Nuttall who slotted home from 18 yards.

For the second week running, Celtic switched off and let the opposition back into the game. Two well taken goals saw Moston level the game at 3-3

It was a fantastic and entertaining game of football and could have either way. But it was to be Celtic's day as Hutchinson's goalbound header was cleared of the line intothe path of Tanner, who almost ripped the net with a thunderous volley.

This was a fantastic result for Hooley Bridge and a good team performance which should carry through to next week's home game against league leaders Mellor.

The second team travel to Stocks, while the third team entertain Moston Brook.
