26/ 3/2008

CLARENCE Athletic were celebrating last week as under 16s coach Tom Feighan achieved his Level Three coaching badge writes Emma Scott.

From a group of 40, which included current and past professional footballers, Tom was one of only nine who attained the elusive UEFA. ‘B’ coaching certificate.

As one of the country’s youngest Level Three coaches, Tom, 22, will once again head out to the United States for his third season as a youth team coach with New York Red Bulls.

Tom, who also played for the club, has been coaching at Clarence Athletic since 2001, and under the guidance of Paul Hignett they have produced one of the most successful sides in the club’s 45 year history.

Clarence Athletic would also like to thank Jean Palin from New Heart for Heywood for her hard work in sourcing the funding which enabled Tom to reach this level.
