WITH the now retired Gareth Griffiths and goalkeeper Matt Gilkes outstanding Dale thoroughly deserved their point against play off bound Lincoln City.

After an even first half that saw few opportunites Dale squandered four or five presentable second half chances and were made to pay when, after Gilkes had produced superb saves to keep out Jamie Forrester and Lee Beevers, he was powerless when defender Gareth McAuley powered home from a 72nd minute corner.

Undaunted though, Dale hit back when leading scorer Ricky Lambert floated in his 22nd league goal of the season to grab a share of the Divisons Golden Boot with Carlisle's Karl Hawley.
