HEYWOOD boxer Mark Thompson posted another victory on Friday to take his tally to 15 wins from 16 fights.
He faced Artur Jashkul, a late replacement for Gilbert Eastman, his original opponent who dropped out. His Latvian adversary had a record of three wins and 13 defeats.
Jashkul looked far from confident and a little small as he entered the ring and it showed in his performance.
Thompson’s fast start was too much for him to handle.
The Heywood star threw a thunderous body shot which saw Jashkul counted out after just two minutes 53 seconds of the contest.
It was a comfortable win for Thompson who is now hoping to move on to bigger and better things. He said: "Hopefully my next fight will be for the Commonwealth title".
