England call-up for boxing stars

STUNNING displays by two Darnhill and Heywood Boxing Club fighters have earned them an international call-up.

Nicky Pemberton and Kildare Ward caught the eye of national coach Mick Gannon at the Royal Navy Golden Gloves finals, held in Knottingley, Leeds, last Saturday.

   wow! how fantastic that Heywood is excelling in boxing. We should be proud of our young lads, Mark Thompson, Nick Pemberton and Kildare Ward, well done lads,you've done Heywood proud, and best of luck on your up coming bouts.
