Frantic reform claim Bury title

AFTER a 90-minute rollercoaster performance against SC Bury at the sports centre last Thursday night, Heywood Reform were deservedly crowned champions of the Bury and District SFL premier division.

The game was amazingly entertaining – in fact it was a throwback to Reform’s silly off days in the Rochdale Sunday League, when matches often followed a similar pattern – players arguing among themselves when the game is not going well, blaming the referee, creating, missing and conceding goals, before producing a whirlwind finish – sometimes all too late.
