Pearce to pen deal

Heywood Cricket Club are hopeful that they have landed a new overseas amateur from the club that produced the popular Royce Blight.

Travis Pearce, a 22-year-old all-rounder with Perth area side Midland-Guildford in Western Australia, has been lined up to succeed Blight for the coming Central Lancashire League campaign.


Cookson cooks up 14-darter

There was an exciting finish last Monday night to the secondary finals of the Spotland League’s individual competition when Steve Cookson of the Talbot Arms defeated Billy Sugden from the Donkey 3-2, striking a 14-darter in the deciding leg.
