Man exposed himself to girls

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man exposed himself twice to young girls.

The man approached two girls, aged 12 and 13, in front of a ginnel where Egerton Street meets Wolsey Street and Egerton Close, on Thursday (20 March) at 8.15am.

The same man then approached a 13-year-old girl on Coomassie Street at 8.30am and exposed himself again.

He is described as white, in his late 40s, balding but with shaved hair around the sides, a height of between five feet seven inches and six feet and overweight. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

Police think the same man may have exposed himself earlier this month to girls on Egerton Street, Manchester Road and Cartridge Street.

PC Dee McInnes said: “We really would urge anyone with any information to contact us as soon as possible.

“It is thought in the most recent incidents that there were witnesses, possibly female, nearby, who may not have seen the actual incident but have seen him.

“He does appear to be targeting young girls, which is worrying as this can be a very distressing experience.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 872 5050.
