ALMOST 400 hundred homes on Back o’ th’ Moss were left without power for 14 hours after vandals attacked an electrical substation on Peel Lane.

Residents’ alarms started to go off at 6.45am last Thursday after yobs broke into the facility at the top of Peel Lane and sabotaged wiring.

Much better security is needed on this substation, the only lock I can see is a padlock. Could not a steel door be fitted or a silent alarm?
