Sports firm's kitbag gets bigger

HEYWOOD-founded chain JD Sports is looking to continue its buying spree with a swoop for Kitbag, an online retailer with headquarters in Middleton.

It would be JD Sports Fashion’s fourth takeover of the year, following its buyout of global sportswear brand Canterbury by £6.5m and rugby brand Kooga earlier this month, and the acquisition in May of French sports footwear retailer Chausport for £7m.
