IF you want to grab a slice of Sex And The City chic - without breaking the bank - then add a little New York style to your beauty cabinet with some top treats from the Big Apple.

Your first stop would have to be Kiehl's, which was founded as an old-fashioned apothecary in New York's East Village over 150 years ago. Luckily for us, it now has outlets here in Manchester at House of Fraser and Harvey Nichols.

City slickers will love their new Superbly Restorative Body Lotion (above) with Fairtrade argan oil (£27) - packed with antioxidants and fatty acids to help prevent against all those inner city toxins, pollution and free-radical damage.

As for your face, try their Abyssine Cream with SPF 23 sunscreen (£36), made with ocean ingredients, including mineral-rich alga to also protect against free radical damage and give your skin an antioxidant boost.

And, don't forget your lips - apparently Sarah Jessica Parker herself swears by their Kiehl's Lip Balm Number One (£7.50), to keep hers kissably soft. Then show them off with their fab new Lip Gloss (£12), appropriately named Downtown Peach.

Finally, for a scent of New York city, spritz a light mist of the new DKNY Summer scent (£29), which mixes berry scents with mandarin and water lilies for a perfume to help keep your cool all day.
