Every week we're out on the style scene scouting out you fabulous fashionistas.

This week, in line with our holiday countdown theme, we caught up with Helen Pizzie, 41, an IT manager, who in three years has dropped from a size 16 to a size 6 by working out with personal trainer, Ken Laird at Bannatyne's Health Club, Quay Street. Let Helen inspire us to get in shape for beach!

How would you describe your style?

For fitness I like to be comfortable. For outside the gym - fashionable but classic.

Where did you buy today's outfit and how much did it cost?

Trainers: Nike £85

Cropped trousers: Adlo about £25.

Top: Selfridges £20

Gloves: JJB Sports £6

Who is your style icon?

I don't really have one but if I had to choose, Sarah Jessica Parker.

Name your favourite shops.

Zara and for fitness gear, Up and Running and USA Pro.

What is your best ever buy?

My best fitness buy was a black USA Pro tracksuit - it was really comfortable and I wore it till it fell apart.

What's your biggest fashion mistake?

I've probably made loads.

How much do you spend on clothes each month?

Too much - I'd spend all my salary on clothes if I could.

What item of clothing can't you live without?

I love shoes - my husband calls me Imelda Marcos because I've got a whole wardrobe full of shoes. For fitness, my running trainers are the thing I couldn't do without.
