Soapbox: Tracy, a letter from a lawyer and now Lister
conrad astley25/ 8/2005
Coronation Street: Steve's life is never easy.
Having just returned from seeing his brother Andy in Spain - the
goofy one with big teeth and enormous hair curtains - he's probably
beginning to wish he was the one born with brains instead of looks,
then he might have steered clear of that Tracy.
He's greeted by a solicitor's letter telling him she wants the
telly - the shirt on his back clearly not being enough. Steve also
discovers she's shacked up with the bloke from the garage, and that
Lister out of Red Dwarf has taken over half his business in a
bizarre attempt to impress Kelly.
Love continues to pose problems for the street's other beleaguered
residents. Good old Les wants to impress Cilla by buying her the
engagement ring of her dreams, so offers Gail a tenner for one from
her extensive collection.
When this doesn't work he goes to the police station to say his
fiancée's ring has been stolen.
And Adam steps out with Candice, who isn't impressed when he buys
the wrong kind of car, and cheap flowers. Will they never
learn?
Eastenders: Things get a bit Dynasty when Dirty
Den makes a comeback from beyond the grave. Sort of. Well, Sam
Mitchell goes a bit nuts and decides to dig up his body, after not
being invited to Sharon and Dennis's wedding. Seems
reasonable.
Aggrieved that she was conned out of her share of the Vic, the
crazy mare gets drunk in an allotment before taking a pickaxe to
the pub's upstairs rooms. Oh, and ripping up Chrissie's passport
and ticket to Argentina. That'll show her.
The appearance of Den's body rather puts a dampener on Sharon and
Dennis's big day, and Sam ends up getting thrown in the slammer. A
fairly quiet week for Walford, then.
Emmerdale: Lonely lesbian Zoe plans to move to New
Zealand, and decides she wants her daughter Jean's nanny Effie to
go with her. But when Effie realises Zoe wants her for more than
her nannying skills, she turns her down. Zoe promptly flies into a
rage and throws the nanny out on her ear.
Meanwhile, the village's residents begin a race to buy the
delightful Home Farm.
