What would be your perfect day? Playing a round
of golf at Portmarnock in Dublin in the morning. Catching a 40lb
salmon in the afternoon and then a sea trout in the evening.
Followed by dinner with friends with good wine and good food.
What is your greatest extravagance? My wife!
What is the most exciting thing you ever received through
the post? Speeding tickets.
What's your idea of a perfect meal? Eating some
good English beef.
Do you have a favourite hangover cure? Don't stop
drinking.
What vehicle, if any, do you own? BMW X5
What is the first job you ever had? Labourer on a
building site.
Do you have any irrational fears? Lamby! (Allan
Lamb)
What is the oldest item of clothing you still
wear? My jeans.
Who do you love? My family.
Who, or what, do you hate? Parasites.
What newspapers or magazines do you read? Trout
& Salmon, Shooting Times, Horse & Hound
What is your favourite book? Da Vinci Code
What is your favourite TV programme? Fly Fishing
with Beefy and Friends (new programme that he is working on).
What was the first record you ever bought? The
Beatles.
Where do you go to relax? To the river or golf
course.
What is your most annoying habit? Always being
right.
What is your favourite journey? Any journey
home.
What is your favourite part of Manchester? Old
Trafford.
What is your ultimate ambition? To see my
grandchildren get married.
What is your greatest achievement? Beating
Australia in Australia more than once for the Ashes.

Which person has most influenced you? My
parents.

I've never wanted to be anyone else. Do you think anyone has had as
