INFORMATION about and how to contact the Advertiser ...
The Paper
The Heywood Advertiser has been serving the town since the 19th century. A surge in circulation during the 1990s has allowed the Heywood Advertiser to provide higher household penetration than any other newspaper title in its area.
A growth in advertising and editorial resources has seen the Advertiser expand markedly in size during this period, virtually doubling its pagination and allowing for regular features and supplements, such as the Weekender entertainment's section.
The Market
Heywood, lying halfway between Rochdale and Bury, is a town that has seen regeneration in recent years. The traditional town centre has received a real fillip from organisations such as JD Sports and Argos as they chose to locate their headquarters in Heywood.
The Hopwood district is an upmarket residential area. The Ashworth valley, to the north of the town, combines traditional farms with expensive country homes for commuters.
The proximity of the M62 motorway has brought a significant boost to the town's industrial fortunes and Heywood is now home to a wide cross section of modern industry.
Heywood has received another boost with the extension of Britain's top rated steam railway, the East Lancashire Railway, which leads to the town.
Communication Links
Served by the M62 and M66 motorways, Heywood has excellent access to all parts of Lancashire, West Yorkshire and Manchester.
